The BCThubs project consortium has selected INNO2MARE as a Best Practice within the framework of its Horizon Europe project. INNO2MARE Pilot project 1 “Improved fire evacuation VR model of a ship engine room” was recognized for its outstanding contribution to creating a high-fidelity Virtual Reality training simulator using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) for realistic fire and smoke propagation, specifically targeting non-technical skills and procedural training for maritime crews. It has strategic relevance, transferability, and an effective co-creation model among academia, maritime schools, and industry. Pilot project 1 was presented online on 21st April 2026 during a BCThubs consortium meeting, and possible cooperation among participants was explored.
