On Friday, 26 September 2025, the Inno2mare project joined the lively atmosphere of Researchers’ Night at Center Rog in Ljubljana. At our interactive stand, visitors discovered how the project is shaping innovation and sustainability in Adriatic regions through videos, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.

Three pilot projects drew the spotlight:

🌊 Enhanced VR Engine Room Model for Fire Evacuation
The biggest hit among primary school students, who made up the majority of visitors. They had great fun testing the application, where putting out a virtual fire turned out to be both a challenge and an adventure. The simulation demonstrated how VR can play a vital role in preparing crews for emergency situations.

AI-Powered Digital Twin for Energy Management
Older visitors showed particular interest in this pilot, which applies artificial intelligence to create sustainable and efficient solutions for managing maritime energy systems.

🚢 Autonomous Vessel Control with AI Support
This project attracted attention with its vision of the future of shipping — developing methods and technologies for self-steering vessels that will enhance safety and efficiency in maritime transport.

With engaging demonstrations and curious participants of all ages, Inno2mare successfully brought science closer to the public — showing how cutting-edge technology can contribute to a smarter, safer, and greener maritime future.
