INNO2MARE participated in the latest session of the Widening Impacts 2025 Webinar Series, which for the first time showcased the outcomes of a joint Excellence Hubs activity. Unlike previous sessions focusing on individual projects, this webinar brought together representatives from seven Excellence Hubs, highlighting growing collaboration within the Energy–Water–Food Nexus.
The webinar, titled “Exploring the Future of Energy–Water–Food Systems in 2050,” took place on 14 November 2025, featuring insights from presenter Odysseas Spyroglou and moderated by Derek Baker.
The event built on the Joint Foresight Workshop hosted by the SolarHub and ECHO Excellence Hubs in July 2025, where participants analysed trends, uncertainties, key actors, and infrastructure dependencies to develop scenario pathways for Europe’s sustainability transition toward 2050.
During the session, the speakers presented:
- The foresight framework and methodology
- Key findings and co-created 2050 scenarios
- Implications for research, innovation, and regional policy
- Industrial innovation challenges
For INNO2MARE, this webinar provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen inter-project cooperation, exchange knowledge, and connect with emerging priorities in Horizon Europe. We look forward to further collaboration with the Excellence Hubs community in shaping a sustainable future.
